19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player won his first title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court after spring of that year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a final set.
The opponent rescued four initial break points in a tight third set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned the title with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after a lengthy match.
